Argos Toys

The Argos store can appear a little daunting at first blush, but it's only because of its massive selection and brilliantly-constructed user interface.  The store is sub-divided into three ways of accessing gifts: a directory, horizontal tabs, and the prominent search box.

The directory is very intuitive and features top 10, action figures, bicycles and outdoor toys, dress-up, technology, construction, creativity and discovery, dolls and playsets, electronic toys, games and puzzles, movie and musical toys, nursery toys, pre-school toys, and various vehicular toys.

The tabs are more generalized and are easier for people that have a broad idea of the type of toy they are looking for.  Browsing is ideal for people who want to be surprised by the selection and aren't quite sure what the perfect gift is.

Of course, the quick search box enables you to search by keyword or catalogue number (an offline catalogue in print is available) so it's very useful for people that want to get in and get out quickly.

Clicking a tab will bring up a directory of sub-categories and clicking any directory link - either on the homepage or any other page - will bring up narrowing fields such as price range, brand, and age.

It's very linear and logical to find the kinds of toys you're looking for, and the selection is variegated and numerous.

The Argos store is the place for people that like organization, simplicity, and breadth and depth of selection.  The color scheme is orange, blue, and red, and it's ideal because a lot of colors don't overwhelm with visual stimuli - making it even more easier to use the logically structured interface.

Even young children can use Argos to find the toys they like most.  Children as young as 5 and 6 have been known to use Argos easily.
